Music Brainz Picard is free effective music tagger for Windows PC written primarily in Python. Music Brainz Picard supports most common music formats, such as MP3, FLAC, OGG, etc. It has also been designed so that it can be used with Windows Vista, allowing your computer to play the files it needs without getting errors. Music Brainz Picard works by discovering keywords that are often associated with the audio files it's trying to detect and then storing those keywords in a special database, which it then uses to produce the tags it needs to play the files.
The way Music Brainz Picard works is quite simple. The software scans your computer for any file that contains one of the keywords it requires to recognize. Once the software identifies the file, it saves that file in the default library for you. The next time you open an audio file, it will play without errors, but if you want, you can change the tag detection algorithm so that it only plays those audio files that are relevant to the title or theme of your current music collection. By altering the software, you can further control how the application works. Some of the additional features include the ability to re-size the library, sort songs by genre or even by their download amount, and even the ability to set up subdirectories and so on.
The Music Brainz Picard software has two main commands you can use to work with your tags: Play and Delete. To use these commands, you must first click in the play menu the word tag you wish to search, followed by the menu command. Then click in the left-hand pane of the window and click on the play keyword. Now you can search for files in the audio library or download them directly, according to the tag you have selected.
